Course Record Equalled: 53.7 Seconds of Brilliance
Puromagic stopped the clock at 53.7 seconds, matching the course record set by Karston Light O in 2002. It was also the sixth consecutive year that a filly won the race—reinforcing the dominance of female sprinters in this unique dash.
Lemaire’s Analysis: “She Was Calm and Explosive”
Lemaire commented,
“She had great speed and stayed relaxed. From the 300-meter mark, she showed an incredible turn of foot. I’m glad we could win under the best conditions.”
He praised Puromagic’s maturity and noted that her Dubai experience had clearly elevated her.
Tightly Contested Finish: Spada and Wing Greatest Follow
First favorite T.M. Spada finished a close second. Jockey Arata Saito admitted:
“The pace was tougher than last time, and I got marked. The winner simply had a better finishing kick.”
10th favorite Wing Greatest claimed third again, following his 2024 runner-up finish. 2024 champion Mozu Meimei faded to sixth.
